And I stopped at my adopted parents first to see them. Colleen and Bob have been like a second pair of parents to me since I was a little girl. Bob has cancer, and he’s had it for a while, and he’s given up his fight. He was really sick this week and was in the hospital on Wednesday. I came home to see him and spend some time with Colleen. It was good to see them.
I held it together so well, so well. I broke down in the car on the way to my dads. I spent two hours with Colleen (Bob was resting in bed) and then went to my dads completely missing my little sisters birthday celebration.
At my dads my family understands how close I am with Colleen and Bob and respect it very much. I got to vent a bit to my dad, sisters, step mom, and aunt about work and school and life in general really. It was refreshing to see them.
Right before I left my littlest sister (who is 16) got really bad hiccups so I was teaching her an old nun trick (that I learned from an old nun) of how to get rid of them by drinking water upside down

I’ll have a video to follow. I almost peed myself watching her do this.
Anyways, after I taught her this trick and the hiccups went away were standing at the top of the stairs and I saw a cat run behind me out of the corner of my eye, and heard a meow from the bottom of the stairs. The thing was our only cat was sitting on the couch passed out. Taryn saw it too, so I know i wasn’t just seeing things. It was just our cat Shadow coming to visit, which I thought was pretty cool.
After I left my dads I came back to my moms, chatted with her for a bit, and now I’m off to bed. A very emotional day but definitely well worth calling off work so I could come see my family.
